Pat Tovey serves as the Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for the Pet Food Institute (PFI). Focusing on food safety, Pat manages work within PFI’s Product Safety Subcommittee, the Ingredient Subcommittee, as well as the pet food industry’s engagement with the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) and other key stakeholder trade associations.
Prior to joining PFI, Pat worked for a laboratory test kit manufacturer where he helped train pet food company food safety professionals to establish mycotoxin sampling plans and implement testing programs.
Pat has a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory sciences and technology from Michigan State University. Currently, he lives in Alexandria with his cats Melville and Autumn.
