The Pet Food Institute (PFI), whose members make the vast majority of dog and cat food and treats in the United States and are dedicated to developing safe, nutritious, high-quality pet food for cats and dogs, released the statement below from its President and CEO Dana Brooks following the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump:
“On behalf of U.S. pet food makers, we congratulate President Trump and Vice President Vance on their inauguration. As a new Administration takes over in Washington, the Pet Food Institute looks forward to working with the Trump-Vance Administration and Congress to advance legislation, regulations and technologies that support domestic manufacture and the global distribution of safe, quality pet food and that provide for consumer choice.
PFI advocates for a fair, science-based regulatory environment and best practices that mutually benefit the pets we love, pet owners and the pet industry. Through our advocacy and the work of our members, we help America’s 186 million pets live longer, healthier lives.”
